This material is truly unique. We think it's beautiful in its own right. It has a similar suppleness like leather with an organic texture.

Because of its entirely natural composition it is sensitive to humidity, just like paper or leather. To ensure it remains at its best we suggest applying a thin layer of beeswax, coconut oil or leather conditioner to the surface especially during hot, dry weather. We like Leather Honey. Avoid prolonged exposure to high levels of humidity, sunlight, or heat. 

It is water-resistant. Like leather, prolonged exposure to wet or dampness may damage it. Quickly dab up the moisture and then allow to air-dry.

Yes, in a proper compost, it will breakdown in several months with no toxic residue.
